Fashion – A Very Blue Weekend

In my very first post on OneBlogTwoLives, I recommended local musician Charlie Lim’s music and I also briefly mentioned that I would be meeting him in a few months. Well the day finally came and I got to meet him last friday while emceeing for my school’s dinner and dance, where Charlie serenaded the crowd with his own composition “Pedestal”, and “Daughters” by John Mayer. Marcus, Sally, Jemimah, Jon (Marcus’ bandmate), and I were all swooning at the side of the stage as he was singing, in Jemimah’s words, “you guys look like you’re gonna throw your ovaries at him”.
Our “groupie fanaticism” didn’t stop there – Charlie is going to be performing at the Esplanade Recital Studio on the 31st August, and you can get your tickets at sistic for $28 (inc. booking fee). I already got mine, so what are you waiting for!
Here’s a couple of photos I snapped with Charlie and my friends. I wore a Blue Midi Dress from Missypixie for the occasion!

Continuing this blue trend over the weekend, I wore my custom-made Baju (“clothes” in Malay) for Hari Raya celebrations. It’s my 4th Hari Raya with my boyfriend and his family, and every year, I design and choose the materials for my outfit, then send it for tailoring! This year, the family was all decked out in blue! I designed a chiffon royal-blue top with an inner corset. To glam the outfit up since the top is a little plain, I chose a blue-and-gold material for my skirt, of course, this decision would not have been made without the valuable input from Imran, his mom and his nanny! My friend, Salimah, was very kind and got me a pair of blue Swarovski earrings from Europe, which perfectly matched my Hari Raya outfit!

Say hi to my boyfriend! Who’s making his first cameo on my blog hehe.

He couldn’t get enough of all the Hari Raya goodies and kept opening every container. See my shocked expression.
My shocked expression still plastered on my face as Imran continues stuffing himself with goodies. This went on for a good 10 minutes.
All in all, it was an amazing (blue) weekend with family and friends. Hope you guys had an awesome weekend as well, and to all my Malay friends, Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir batin!
xx,
Drea
