  • AHHH loving Joyce’s hair chalking stint! Makes her look pretty bad-ass doesn’t it? I secretly have this belief that I can pull off the bad-ass look, but no one seems to agree with me. Hai.Anyway! I have so much exciting news to share! Firstly, as some of you might know, I’m co-hosting a fashion show with my uni-roomie Jemimah for clicknetworktv. The series has yet to be aired as we’re still in the process of filming, but here’s a sneak preview of the show banner:

Pretty right? Basically the show is gonna be all about Fashion! We’ll be interviewing online retailers, people on the street, up and coming designers, and even letting you in to our wardrobes! I will definitely be posting the link to the video here once it’s up, so watch this space! On to my second piece of exciting news: While filming for an episode of “That F Word” on Orchard Road, I got stopped by the good people at www.WatchingTrendsFashion.com, an online fashion magazine, and they snapped a photo of my outfit for uploading onto their Sartorialist segment. See the feature here: http://wardrobetrendsfashion.com/thumbd-issue-23/#.UBy94hEb9dE.facebook. I was so happy when I found out my outfit got featured – I mean, never in a million years would I have thought I would ever make it into a fashion magazine street fashion segment! I’m wearing ALDO shades, a Missypixie Top, Skirt i bought online, Bag I got from Malaysia, Bracelet from Far East Plaza, and my Jeffrey Campbell shoes.

And thirdly, today’s outfit I’m sharing was taken at Fort Canning Park, and yup, this outfit was taken on the same day as my past outfit shot at FCP. I’m wearing a maxi dress I got at a flea market at St. James Power Station a few years ago… I think i got for about $10? It’s amazing what you can find at fleas! I decided to wear my Topshop biker jacket to contrast the soft look from the maxi. Again, here I am attempting to bring out my inner bad-ass. Oh, and shoes are from DKNY.

Yup so that’s about all the good news I have to share with you. Thanks for reading guys! Till next time!

    xx

  • I’m a sucker for parks and picnics (especially Shakespeare in the Park!). Unfortunately, with Singapore’s weather, Imran and I rather stay at home and watch movies, with the air conditioner turned on and on full blast. We’re like an old married couple I swear, gone are the romantic days of adventurous dates to mini-golf courses, the zoo, the museums…. we’d rather sloth at home and eat our favorite mango sorbet from Udders.
I digress. So I met up with my photographer friend, Alvin, for a business meeting yesterday, and he nicely agreed to help me shoot several outfits for 1B2L after that! We shot at Fort Canning Park (hence the rant about parks earlier) as we needed to recce the place for an upcoming shoot that we are organizing for my Hall’s Pageant.
I’m wearing a top from MissyPixie, shorts from Cotton On, shoes from Nine West and necklace from Topshop.
Credits go to Mr Alvin Teo for the lovely photos that you are seeing today. You know the saying that every girl wants a gay best friend? I think they got it wrong – every girl wants a photographer-friend. Hehe. If you guys want to contact him for shoots, hit him up at jujuphotog@gmail.com. Thanks buddy!

  • Fashion – Jeannie Mai + Maxi Skirt Love

  • Hey guys,
Before i blog about my OOTD, I have some exciting news to share! While having dessert with friends at Ion Orchard, I bumped into Style Network’s “How Do I Look” host, Jeannie Mai! Joyce and I (and my dad!) really enjoy watching her show, so to get to see her in Singapore was pretty major. 😀 To those who are unfamiliar with Jeannie and her show, on “How Do I Look”, Jeannie transforms drab-looking people into glamourous swans by teaching them what to wear and how to do up their hair and make-up.
She’s known for her signature blue streaks, so when I first saw her from the back, I was all “that’s so Jeannie Mai” then she turned around and I was all “HOMG THAT *IS* JEANNIE MAI”. While taking the photo with her, I was so Starstuck my heart was about to explode from beating so fast. Best thing is she retweeted my tweet (i posted a photo of us on twitter), you can check it out on my twitter page at @dreachong!
Okay, enough of my fangirl moment, am blushing and smiling to myself so hard while typing this my cheeks hurt.
Today’s outfit was shot at Seletar again, this time we went to the colonial houses to shoot them. I’m doing another maxi-skirt post cos I’m absolutely in love with my new ASOS A Wear maxi skirt I got on sale for about S$40. The sheerness of the material makes it really flow-y and you just want to twirl around in it all the time.
Top from Zara. Hat, bracelet, and necklace from Topshop. Shoes from DKNY.
